In a dramatic and heartbreaking incident on Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle plowed into a residence in central Massachusetts, resulting in one fatality and two individuals hospitalized. The crash occurred on Homestead Lane in Leicester, Massachusetts just after 1 p.m., according to the Worcester District Attorney’s Office.
First responders arrived to find a black sedan crashed through the home’s garage and into the interior. Tragically, one person was found trapped underneath the vehicle. They were extracted by emergency crews and air‑lifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Their identity has not yet been released.
Two other victims, also struck by the vehicle, suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals. Meanwhile, the driver remained on scene and investigators from the D.A.’s office and state police are assisting the Leicester Police Department in determining the cause of the crash.
As the community reels from the shock, officials have not yet defined a motive or mechanical cause. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected in the coming days.
