Hi, I’m Elijah Thomas, currently a sophomore at the University of South Alabama, majoring in General Business. I’d like to share some of the best moments and life lessons I’ve experienced so far in college.

Firstly, the decision to attend college was a significant milestone for me. Although my family was incredibly supportive, I was determined to take that first step on my own. I moved into my dorm, handled all the paperwork, and embarked on my freshman year with the goal of personal growth. It was a transformative experience.

One of the most influential decisions I made in college was joining Pi Kappa Alpha, a fraternity that introduced me to some amazing friends. Having arrived in Mobile alone, I understood the challenges of making genuine connections. After a summer break, my best friend, Taylor, and I decided to attend a rush event. I instantly connected with the guys there and especially with Logan Murphy. His words convinced me to join, and I signed my bid. The journey through my pledge ship and the discussions on passion and purpose with the older members challenged me in profound ways. I now trust and cherish my bond with about 45 fraternity brothers for life.

My graduation date is set for May 2026, but until then, I’d like to share a few messages with fellow college students worldwide:

1) Your path is yours to navigate. Make the decisions that reflect who you are because only you truly know yourself.

2) Authenticity is key. Many students may put on facade personalities to fit in, and I’ve been there too. Be yourself, and you’ll find that people will encourage and embrace you for who you are.

3) Work hard and play hard, but remember your primary purpose in college is education. Stay focused on your studies while having an incredible time along the way.

College is a unique journey, and I’m excited to see where it takes me. Remember, it’s your path, so make the most of it!
