1. Please introduce yourself and share some insights into who you are.

My name is Xavion Gonzalez, but my artist name is Xayveon! I’m a Jack of All trades creative but is a master of none. I truly love the process of creating!

2. As a designer artist, could you tell me how you got started in art and share some of your experiences in the field?

I got started in the art field from a very young age by redrawing some of my favorite superhero’s at the time from Spider Man to Goku from DBZ. Over the years I’ve transitioned to graphic design to help aid my pursuit of fashion design. From there I wanted to figure out a way to creatively promote my brand so I began research photography and film and fell in love with it as well. Currently I’ve gotten back to my drawing roots and am working on my brand named KODAWARI that means the “the uncompromising and relentless pursuit of perfection”. With this brand I’m introducing 2 characters Yako (a fox) and Kame (a turtle) to lead the way for this next creative endeavor.

3. What are some meaningful words of wisdom that you live by every day?

My brand “KODAWARI” is what I live by on the day to day. I know deep down perfection is an almost impossible task to achieve but the pursuit is my favorite and most important part in my opinion. Working or striving towards something with a persistent work ethic or goal in mind can only Lead to desired successes and results.

4. What are the goals you’re currently working towards, with a timeline of 1-3 years to achieve them?

Right now I’m trying to get my brand up in running in the belief that this will lead me to truly be able to create anything in any form creatively. I want to continue making tshirts and other clothing. I have a coloring book in production. I want to also make childrens toys and short films with my brand. The personal goal with all of this is to have my brand eventually lead me to a place I’ve always wanted to travel and hold extremely dear to my heart, JAPAN.

5. Among all the art projects you’ve created, which one is your favorite and why?

I’d say my characters Yako and Kame for my Kodawari brand. They truly give me the flexibility to do anything I want creatively. It was an almost 5 year process to come up with them and get them exactly how I wanted but I never gave up and kept pushing because I knew they would be the very things to help me achieve what personal goals I had in place. I just need patience.

6. How do you aspire to make a positive impact in the world through your art and beyond?

I hope that anyone that sees my work or hears my thoughts and opinions can take away something positive and use it for their life to achieve whatever they want with their life. I also want people to be more comfortable living with being wrong instead of searching for the constant desire of being right with everything. I’ve trained myself to know that I’m going to be more wrong than I will be right in my life and that is going to help me learn way more in this journey we call life than pretending to know everything in hopes for a momentary self satisfaction.
