1. Can you share some information about yourself and describe who you are?

Hi, I’m Lexi, a 23-year-old mother to a beautiful 7-month-old baby boy.

2. I noticed that you’ve faced challenges that led to being in a wheelchair. Could you explain what happened and how you manage day-to-day? Also, could you provide an update on your recovery progress?

At the age of 16, I was involved in a car accident stemming from a road rage incident, which resulted in my disability. I suffered a neck injury, relied on a ventilator, and worked hard to preserve as much limb function as possible. Now, 8 years later, I have a wonderful baby boy, three dogs, and an amazing partner.

3. What words of encouragement would you like to share with the world?

Believe in yourself, never give up on your dreams. Anyone can achieve anything with the right mindset.

4. What goals do you hope to achieve within the next 1-3 years?

My current priority is to move into a larger home and provide the best possible upbringing for my son.

5. How would you like to make a positive impact on society as a whole?

I aspire for society to view “disabled moms” simply as moms. We are no different; we just rely on different tools to adapt and care for our children.

6. If you could envision a perfect world based on your own vision, what would it look like?

In a perfect world, there would be no judgment placed on disabled moms who choose to start families. I believe that anything is possible, and my wheelchair doesn’t hinder me from having the family I’ve always desired.
