  1. Could you please provide some insights into your background and personal history?

During my childhood, my family faced financial hardships, and we were considered poor for a significant part of that time. Despite our circumstances, my mother never allowed our struggles to define us and always made sure to provide me with anything I wanted, even while she was going through a tough time. We later experienced homelessness for about two years, which had a profound impact on shaping who I am today. I am incredibly grateful for everything I have and never take anything or anyone for granted. Despite the financial challenges, I had a happy and sheltered childhood, and I wouldn’t change a thing about my experiences. My mother is my true hero.

  1. What are the passions in life that you are currently pursuing or working towards?

Currently, I am pursuing a degree in psychology at CSULA, and I absolutely love it! Psychology, to me, is the most fascinating subject in the world. I genuinely enjoy attending classes and learning about various aspects of the human brain, theories, and all things related to psychology. While I have considered a career as a forensic psychologist in criminal justice, I’m still open to exploring different options. For now, I am simply thrilled to be studying my favorite subject.

  1. What goals have you set for yourself in the next 1-3 years?

Over the next couple of years, I have set some significant goals for myself. Firstly, I aim to graduate college. I am currently halfway through my degree and can see the finish line approaching. As someone who tends to get burnt out easily, completing college is a major milestone. Secondly, I aspire to move into my own apartment and achieve complete independence. I am in the process of transitioning from the nest, and I am incredibly grateful for my mother’s support during this time. Lastly, I have a goal of starting my travel journey. I have a deep desire to explore the world and experience everything it has to offer, so venturing outside the country is something I am eager to do.

  1. What are your reflections and thoughts on the current state of the world?

In my opinion, the world is in a state of absolute chaos.

  1. Can you share some of the challenges you have faced in life and elaborate on how you overcame them?

The most challenging situation I have ever faced in my life was when my family and I experienced homelessness. It was an exhausting and overwhelming experience, particularly as a teenager trying to navigate life without a stable home. Even now, it’s difficult to recall all the details as my mind has blocked out some of those memories. However, I managed to keep my grades up, provide support and encouragement to my mother, and eventually we were able to overcome that situation. When I think about how I made it through, it’s hard to pinpoint a specific strategy. All I know is that I emerged from that experience stronger than ever. I owe a great deal of gratitude to my mother, who ensured my safety, made sure I had food to eat, and ultimately led us out of homelessness through her sheer determination.

  1. Are there any other aspects about yourself that you would like to share with the world?

Aside from my studies and personal experiences, I have a deep love for science, bugs, space, and desserts. In life, all I truly want is to have fun and enjoy the time I have on this planet.
