Introduce Yourself/Tell About Yourself: Hey! My name is shania and I am a 20 year old health care assistant living in Ireland. I love animals, photography and writing poetry or stories. I have three siblings and live with my mom and dad.

What Inspires You Every day? : Working in a healthcare setting, the people I look after often inspire me, their stories they have to tell and input and advice about life is something that really inspires me. I think having a job you are happy in is such a vital part of life as it gives you something to do during your days , a reason to get up earlier, sets routine and everyone feels job satisfaction / sense of achievement afterwards.

What is some words of wisdom you live by?: “ if it’s not a blessing, it’s a lesson”. During 2021 I found myself looking back at times, I looked back and observed different things in my life that I wasn’t happy with, I made a list of things that made me happy and another list of things of things I did everyday, the comparison was eye opening. I say this quote on the daily as a reminder that no matter what, there will be a silver lining in a situation and it happened for a reason, you’ll find your blessing in it.

What is your ultimate goal in life? : To travel! I want to travel everywhere! Take photos, write stories somewhere new and see what is out there.

How have you been during the pandemic and how has it affected you? : I have been very lucky to have good health and not catch the virus, but the pandemic affected me in different ways. A family member who lived with me passed away which was hard anytime, but especially hard during this, grieving was much more difficult as I could never leave the house much, you had to walk past the room , no distractions no where to go to distract your mind. I found the isolation very difficult. Otherwise, I belive the lockdown changed me as I had so much free time to sit with my thoughts I realised better what I wanted in life at this moment.

What is a message you would like to give others? : If it’s out of your hands get it out of your mind

What else would you like to tell others about you or your life?: I hope to go further with my career in healthcare and later in life do mental health nursing.
